No matter what age you are, music is undoubtedly one of the best ways to connect with other cultures! In their debut album, Story of the Sky, The Bruces & Friends share music inspired by multicultural and intergenerational stories that kids and their families can bop along to.
Husband-wife duo Chris and Morley Bruce’s album features more than a dozen different singers from ages 2-92. Story of the Sky also features songs in tons of languages including English, Tibetan, Spanish, Tamil, and Lingala — and even includes a song featuring more than 20 languages!
Each of the 19 tracks on the album focuses on a different facet of the human experience. “L.O.V.E.” is all about seeing the best in ourselves and the people around us. “This Is the Sun (Song for Ruby)” is about a kid finding community with friends and family. “Where Do We Come From?” embraces the diversity of life and points out the connection between humanity and nature.
Story of the Sky will be available on streaming services starting on Aug. 25. With each song, kids can jam out while pondering their place in the world. It’s certainly less scary when set to music!
